THE SUB REGION
Cheshire and Warrington is the Northwest's most successful sub region.
On skills levels, productivity and entrepreneurship, performance is well above regional and national averages and there is continuing growth in the creation of new jobs. Cheshire and Warrington's success is vital for the wellbeing of the Northwest as a whole, representing an eighth of the region's population but contributing a sixth of its economic output.
But despite this there are still significant pockets of deprivation with high levels of unemployment and worklessness. CWEC is committed to working with key partners to address these issues to ensure that the economy continues to flourish.
